Incidents - Encounters - Umwelts
/ˈʊmvɛlt/
Meaning: (in ethology) the world as it is experienced by a particular organism.
plural: Umwelten
I want to create situations for myself to encounter non-human organisms: bats, ladybugs, mantis, trees, mushrooms. To be able to step into their landscape and umwelt imaginariyly. And by seeing, observing and accompanying, I want to get close.

Any insect, mushroom, plant or animal that comes into the grow room and take root there, will encounter all that is already present. And will be accompanied by me and others. Allowing for different levels of engagement and different kinds of encounters, I want to mainly create a space where people are able to walk in and occupy it.

The design of the space attempts to create an inward looking moment that occurs while mirroring an insect or another kind of life.

A feeling of co-occupying space and time, a momentary connection. Which may or may not stay. which may or may not transform one. But it is a step.
